The Youth Department

The St. Matthew Youth Department is comprised of several different groups all designed to cater to the many interests of our youth. Young people under the age of 25 can choose to be a part of the choir, praise team, drill team and so much more. The department participates in the Shiloh district association as well as the National Baptist Convention each year. The youth department also hosts a weekly bible study for varying age groups each Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir performs the 3rd Sunday of each month. Practices are on the 2nd and 3rd Wed at 5:00pm.

Liturgical Praise Dance Ministry

The Liturgical Praise Ministry shares their love of God through dance.

“Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.”

Baby Rex

The St. Matthew Baby Rex is available for members under the age of ten. They learn to praise God through step and song. The Baby Rex group gives them the disciple and training they need to learn before joining the Drill team at an older age.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Drill Team

The Drill Team gives children the chance to step for Jesus. Open to members ages 10-25. This group is able to recite scriptures and move with military like precision.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
